there are no cats in america / and the streets are paved with cheese

I've come to the conclusion that I am actually just a big kid. I once did an online quiz to find out how old my inner child was, and got the result 10 years old. Despite the fact that that was several years ago now, I don't think inner children age at the same rate that you yourself do.

For example; on my birthday the other week, I went to the pub with some friends and then back to one of their flats. Getting drunk obviously isn't a childish thing to do, however getting drunk and deciding to watch Count Duckula? Oh yeah. I loved that show when I was younger, and seeing as Pix has the first two (?) series on DVD, we have spent several hours watching it. Good times!

I defy you not to get the theme tune stuck in your head after watching that~

Further proof: I asked for The Land Before Time for my birthday, and my nan got it for me ^_^ Of course, this resulted in a lot of odd looks from various family members when they asked what I got and I explained. But still, it's a good film! It was one of my faves as a kid and having watched it the other day, I can safely say it is still a favourite. It's such so sweet and sad and...educational? Perhaps. And Cera majorly reminded me of a 'friend' I had at school; the similarities are pretty freaky.

And on the subject of my DVD collection...looking at my DVD shelf, I can see: The Emperor's New Groove; Kronk's New Groove (yep, that's the little-known sequel to ENG); The Land Before Time; The Little Mermaid; Tales From The NeverEnding Story and The Road to El Dorado. Of course, there are others (such as Bugsy Malone; Oliver!; Hot Fuzz and Silence of the Lambs to name a few) plus I have a load of not!kid's films back home, but as you can see, it's mostly the kiddie films that I brought with me to uni, as they are the ones I enjoy watching the most. There's not really much hope for me, is there? XD

To anyone who can guess what film (yes, it is a kid's film) my post title is from, you can have a virtual cookie ^_^

Sadly enough I do know what movie it's from... but I can't think of the title! I know it's about a mouse called Fivel... isn't it called 'A Mouse's Tail'? It's about a Russian mouse who goes to America...

I think every good student has kids movies in their dvd collection- 'The Goonies' sits right next to 'Dawn of the Dead' on my shelf...

I hope you like smarties! ^_^

Omg the Goonies! I'm told that I loved that too when I was younger, but to be honest I don't remember anything about it o_O

Yay! Virtual cookies!

'The Goonies' rule!!! (Or should that be Goonies never say die?)

And I loved (and still love) the Star Wars movies- especially 'The Empire Strikes Back'- even as a kid I loved the most depressing one out of the three... think it says a lot about me...

I've never seen the Goonies. And streets are made on stone.

I think I should rewatch The Goonies. It'll be interesting to see how much comes back to me!

Pru ~ I would say you are missing out but, uh. Yeah, I don't actually know if you are lols. And in America, the streets are paved with cheese, because they are special.

I have never watched the goonies but i loved the land before time and it made me so sad. Also I always watched american tale when I went to visit my nan's on the weekend I loved that song but my favourite was 'somewhere out there'. Most of the films I bought with me were disney and especially the little mermaid. Of course!!!

=D I love the goonies and Fievel's American tale. When i was little i used to sit around singing 'somewheeeeeere out theeeeeere'. I have all the films on VHS, including the American west one, but i don't think its quite as good
